I will never again doubt the internet

A 2-liter of Diet Coke and a roll of Mentos. I only managed to drop in three of the Mentos before I ran out of time.

There's aspartame in my hair.

  • Someday, I will get my kids to do this, and call it a science experiement.

    Pretty awesome.

  • Bro,
I actually did this at work. We did the whole drill the hole in the cap and suspend 5 mentos from a paperclip thing. The fountain went well over the backboard of our company basketball hoop. I think I've got my 4th of July display lined up!

  • Sweet! I've gotta try this too.

    Surely you've seen this, then?

  • Urgh -- let's have that link again, eh?

  • Funny, but not as funny as the description of the beer brewing gone awry. Why is that? Is it that precedent has already been set, or that a picture is NOT worth a thousand words (although the first shot of the coke spattering over you elicited a genuine "laugh out loud").

Thank you for sharing and making my day.

  • But, Aaron, the beer story is enhanced by the pic of the hole in the ceiling!

Mike J, it was that video that convinced me the whole Coke/Mentos thing was a total hoax!

  • Dude, who was your cameraman?

I tried this myself a couple months back with no luck. Of course, my 2-liter had been sitting opening in the fridge for about a week, so that may have had something to do with it.

  • Camera was just manned by some dude at work who was smart enough to find the billion-frames-per-second setting.

  • He Couz, I'm going to try this with my first graders on their first day of school. Can't wait!

  • I've been wanting to do this for weeks, but sadly you just can't get mentos over here, and apparently no other brands work as well. :( Perhaps time to move to America...

  • LOL! This made my day! I hope you got the aspertame out.
