When I'm lucky enough to write a good line or devise a fun and apt simile or come up with a really neat idea, it makes me giggle with delight.
A couple of days ago I came up with a really neat idea for the Norse novel, and I'm still giggling.

Maureen, the thing you read at VP was sort of an executive summary of a different Norse novel. In the one I'm working on now, Baldr is kind of a bad guy. But, yeah, I've been working on this one a looooong time, too.
The first (and only) book I ever finished went pretty quickly because a.) it was short and b.) it was simple.
I probably should have followed it up with one that was a.) just a little less short and b.) just a little less simple.
Instead, here I am.
